M.Tech Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering with specialization in control systems is a 2-year post-graduate degree programme that deals with the designing, configuration and automation of systems. This course at Hindustan Campus provides a sound foundation to students who wish to pursue a career in control systems, communication, robotics or sensor systems through a diverse range of theoretical skills and practical experience. Modules of this programme train students to plan, design, install, operate and maintain the complex systems.

M.Tech Electronics and Instrumentation programme in Control Systems at Hindustan Campus provides necessary theoretical background with a good blend of applied mathematics along with in-depth coverage of the analysis of various control and instrumentation systems.

We impart quality engineering education to the students and groom them in all facets of creative learning, character building, competency and overall personality development. The objective of M.Tech Electronics and Instrumentation programme is to impart knowledge base and skill sets in the field of control systems and instrumentation to the learners. We also support creative and innovative projects and activities for the overall development of the candidates.

Programme Structure: The programme is interdisciplinary in nature covering areas such as instrumentation, control, mechanical, computers and chemical engineering. The core course includes automatic, economic, efficient and reliable control systems with a wide range of electives in electric drives, robotics, power system, micro-controllers etc.

The curriculum of the programme is designed in such a way to make the students excel in the areas of virtual instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation, embedded systems, PLC and DCS, SCADA, smart sensors and sensor networks. Students are required to take up the project, seminar and dissertation for second year in order to implement the theoretical knowledge that they have gained in the first year of the programme.

    Course Duration: 2 years

    Scope and Career Prospects: After pursuing the course at Hindustan Campus, graduates become eligible for various job opportunities in the production firms in both government and private sectors. They can seek employment in several fields such as railways, armed forces, and other government departments. They become employable for various aeronautical research projects, manufacturing firms, biomedical companies etc.

    An instrumentation engineer is responsible for the designing, development, installation, management and maintenance of the equipments used in various systems. They are required to play the roles that involve:

    • Maintaining the existing control systems
    • Designing and developing the control systems
    • Managing control systems
    • Troubleshooting
    • Ensuring that quality standards are maintained
    • Providing consultancy support
    • Ensuring that instruments comply with health and safety regulations

    Entry level aspirants can get a starting salary of minimum Rs. 2.2 lakh/p.a. to Rs. 6 lakh/p.a. excluding other allowances. With more experience or as an established independent consultant one could earn more. Senior engineers can earn anywhere in between Rs. 6 lakh/p.a. and Rs. 12 lakh/p.a.
